My bio: I earned my B.S., M.S., and  
Ph. D. in Ceramic and Materials 
Engineering from Rutgers University. 
After working in industry for a few years 
I decided to enter the teaching 
profession. I have been teaching at 
Piscataway High School since
September 2004.

 

Academic Chemistry grading policy:

Homework, Class Participation and Do Nows: 10%

Tests and quizzes: 50%

Labs: 30% 

Projects: 10%

 

Honors Chemistry grading policy:

Homework, Class Participation and Do Nows: 10%

Tests and quizzes: 60%

Labs: 20% 

Projects: 10%


Environmental Science grading policy:

Though points are done cumulatively,
here is a generic breakdown of how assignments impact a student’s grade…..

45% Tests and Quizzes: points range from 30pts to 50pts; amount varies per marking period

40% Labs/Classwork: simple assignments are
15pts to 30pts, while larger labs and reports
are 60pts to 100pts;   

15% Chapter Booklets: typically 20pts per
booklet; based on chapters/units we study
