Piscataway High School Broadcast Media Suite

 
The State of the Art Broadcast Media Suite is located in the East Wing of Piscataway High School. Facilities include:
  • two TV studios equipped with teleprompters and "green screen" capabilities
  • two control rooms equipped to broadcast live throughout the high school or via digital signage
  • a professional, broadcast quality edit suite
  • a new FOLEY sound studio 
  • an audio production room with professional audio board, 9 studio microphones and podcasting/audio editing computer workstations
  • a fiber networked "new media" lab with 17 Mac Workstations for digital video editing, podcasting, and multimedia production
  • a modern technologically equipped classroom with LCD projector and additional MAC Workstations
  • an Fm radio station - WVPH 90.3 FM
The PHS Broadcast Media Suite hosts two major entities:
 

 


PWAY-TV -- Piscataway High School Television
student produced programming and services
  • Students enrolled in TV & Radio broadcasting classes and the PWAY-TV club produce the "Life in Black & Gold" news magazine format program -- available on YouTube and the high school website. 
  • Students assist staff and fellow classmates with multimedia projects and offer videography services for special events and class projects. Several motivated broadcasting students have won awards for their radio and video productions.

 
WVPH 90.3FM -- Piscataway High School's Radio Station
 
Student broadcasters are on the air Monday through Friday from 6:30am - 7:15am and 1pm - 4pm on WVPH 90.3FM. Many students are involved in the radio club and shows vary in style and content. The radio station can be heard by listeners within a 20 mile radius (approximately) of Piscataway. Rutgers University students broadcast over WVPH when PHS students are not on the air.
