PHS artwork on display in virtual Autism Acceptance expo

Posted Date: 5/12/25 (1:00 PM)

Several Piscataway High School students participated in New Jersey’s 2nd annual Autism Acceptance Virtual Art Expo to highlight the talents and passions of our autism community for art lovers around the state! Art pieces submitted to the expo are posted on a website called Artsteps that simulates walking through an art gallery. As a viewer clicks on the different pieces in the “Spotlight on the Spectrum” gallery, information about the artist pops up. PHS students, with the help of their teachers Dana Strafer and Shannon Mengak, worked collaboratively with students from the PHS National Art Honor Society, led by Samantha Knierim, to create beautiful designs with paint, coffee filters, and art sponges. Click to view the virtual art gallery and find the works submitted by PHS (and one from an Arbor Intermediate School student): https://www.artsteps.com/view/67af380b0a7da25726688e60
