PHS Freshman Field Day builds community and belonging

Posted Date: 4/25/25 (1:00 PM)

Piscataway High School students had great weather and an amazing time at Freshman Field Day on Wednesday, April 23! Ninth-graders competed in a wide variety and of games and contests on the football field in teams made up of their Freshman Seminar classes, coached by their teachers and upperclass mentors. The celebration is a culmination of another successful year for the PHS Freshman Seminar program, which is in its fifth year of providing transition support to ninth-graders. The program builds community and belonging in order to improve the likelihood that students will succeed academically, socially, and emotionally at PHS. Special thanks to Noel Aprile, our coordinator of special projects, who oversees the Freshman Seminar and Field Day, and Dawne Dionisio, our mentor coordinator. And these amazing photos were taken by sophomore Jagger Tinitigan, a photographer for The Chieftain school newspaper.
