Seniors in the Piscataway High School molecular biology research class hosted a poster session on Wednesday, June 11, to display and explain the research they have conducted over the year in Dr. Craig Lollin’s class. Visitors got to inspect the research displayed on the posters while the students explained their findings. This class, formally known as Research in Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics, is a partnership with Rutgers University. It gives students the opportunity to learn and perform college-level research procedures and study protein structure and function. All these students have their work published to the National Center for Biotechnology Information database – another college-level achievement. Visitors were encouraged to ask questions of the students during their presentation, which served as the final exam for the class. Among the visitors were Interim Superintendent Dr. Johanna S. Ruberto, and Director of Human Resources Colleen Pongratz, who was excited to see one of the presenters was Suhani Kachhia, a former student of hers when she was principal at Eisenhower Elementary School. The other student presenters were Madeline Bullock, Jimi Huang, Taylor Huggup, and Suhavi Buar.
