Freshman Seminar Culture Tour brightens halls of PHS with diversity

Posted Date: 03/05/26 (09:00 AM)

The Piscataway High School Freshman Seminar classes recently beautified the building and spread information about diverse cultures with their annual Culture Tour Door Decorating Competition!

Each class – with the support of their teachers and junior and senior mentors – researched an assigned nation or culture and utilized what they learned to create informative and interactive displays.

Many of the classes incorporated additional information via QR codes. Some classes also incorporated unique features such as a playlist, a mini brochure with “free airline ticket,” and trivia games. The competition was among Freshman Seminar classes, but all PHS teachers and students were invited to explore the tour, which included 27 classrooms throughout PHS, and featured many of the former home countries of our students.

The displays were judged on specific criteria. The four classes with the most points will celebrate with a class party. Congratulations to the classes of teacher Dawne Dionisio, Justin Lee, Joy Scott, and Brittany Silva!
