Tyler West chosen as Middlesex County Secondary Principals Association’s Outstanding Student for PHS

Congratulations to senior Tyler West for being selected as the Middlesex County Secondary Principals Association’s Outstanding Student for Piscataway High School!
Tyler’s leadership, maturity, and drive make him an exceptional student and community member. In our school community, his roles on the leadership boards for the Black Student Union, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and as our senior student representative to the Board of Education, he uses his voice to bring people together and to create change, all while taking numerous Advanced Placement and honors classes.
His work with the SADD Safe Streets campaign video that earned a $10,000 prize is a testament to his creativity, initiative, and desire to make a meaningful difference. He carries that same responsibility into each role he takes on, as an athlete, peer mentor, or student representative.
Tyler will be attending Ohio State University on a full academic scholarship.
Outside of school he pursued his passion for broadcast journalism by participating in Montclair State University’s summer Sports Broadcasting Camp for three summers and Syracuse University’s Broadcast and Digital Journalism program as a senior, where he was selected to attend professional events like the Jets minicamp, a Jersey Jackals game, and Northeast Conference Football Media Day.
