Congratulations to three Piscataway High School seniors who each received a $5,000 scholarship from the VRX Foundation!

The recipients are Blake Naing, who will attend Cornell University; Fatima Chughtai, who will attend Rutgers University; and Jane Rodrigues, who will attend Wilkes University.

The three students were surprised with their awards during the school day on Wednesday, May 20, by VRX founders Rich and Kay Shah, who is a PHS alumnus. The foundation awarded a total of $40,000 in scholarships this year to eight students at four high schools, and is approaching $100,000 in awards over five years.

The scholarship winners were chosen from a competitive pool of 77 applicants across four schools, with PHS being the only school to receive three scholarships. These students graduated near the top of their class, showed strong civic engagement, and detailed how they plan to continue after completing their higher education.
